Anita K Ninsiima was just 14 years old when she received the lifetering diagnosis of type one diabetes on October 14, 2006 (Diaversary). Over the next 18 years, she navigated the complexities of managing her condition while completing her Secondary education(2006-2011) and later pursuing a University degree in (2012-2016). Throughout her journey, Anita faced numerous challenges from the time of diagnosis from people known and unknown to her, including stigma from  acquaintances in her past life, which led to heartbreaking pregnancy and the loss of her marriage that affected  and traumatized her for 10 years, plus other unexplainable episodes that were extremely ruthless... "Some truths are better known and  kept but God knows why it had to be that way...." That is one side of the story that i never wished to narrate till after 10 years. But whatever is done in the dark must come to LIGHT Luke 8:17 (NIV).  In 2024, she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder due to the life challenges and critics she endured, but instead of succumbing to despair, she formed her struggles into strength. As a passionate advocate/creative/writer , she dedicates her life to combating diabetes stigma, dispelling false misconceptions and sharing her story of endurance through pain and tears, ultimately finding purpose in her truth. Her advocacy is driven by a personal journey as  a diabetic, fueling passion to raise awareness and support to those affected by this condition. She is committed to providing valuable information and fostering a supportive community for individuals and families impacted by type-1 diabetes . Join us in our mission to make a difference! She is also a Blue Circle Voice under International Diabetes Federation (based in Brussels, Belgium) and Brand Affiliate at Joy Of Beauty Brand (a diabetes friendly brand based in Washington DC). Her need to fight Diabetes Stigma and promote Diabetes Advocacy has never ceased out and she feels the community needs more insight and knowledge about Diabetes.
